Product Description
Honda recently launched a new entry into the dual sport market with their very economical and extremely fun 2013 - 2022 CRF250L. The small price tag compared to many similar models combined with great fuel economy makes this bike a popular buy; however, through testing we found the stock suspension is in need of some serious upgrades.
In stock form, the forks, featuring a single spring design are undersprung for any rider over 100 pounds, and the non-rebuildable rear shock lacks the ability for tuning an extremely undersprung and under-damped rear end. Race Tech went to work on the CRF250L's suspension and ended up making this popular model boast an extremely plush ride on the street with great bottoming resistance and consistency on the trail, all the while increasing traction.
RT Hi-Performance Spring Kit for CRF250L Forks
With limited travel, adding a stiffer spring in the right leg only per the stock design was not a viable option. Race Tech instead offers an RT Hi-Performance Spring Kit to add a stiffer spring to the other fork. (The overall spring rate in the forks is the average spring rate between both legs.) With the stock spring rate only useful to a 100lb. novice rider, this upgrade will make a drastic improvement in the CRF250L's handling for most riders.

Springs are the most critical element of suspension performance. Ideally they should be matched to suit the combined weight of both bike and rider. Correct spring rate will ensure that the bike settles to the ideal ride height to determine the final geometry of the motorcycle.(Rider Sag)
Springs are available in different wire gauges and materials. The best springs are simply manufactured from the highest quality chrome silicon wire and receive hardening and prestressing treatments.
Race Tech springs are not only made using the best materials and techniques but they are also 100% tested to ensure accuracy. The industry tolerance for spring manufacturing is plus or minus 5%. This is not close enough for obtaining perfect tuning requirements so Race Tech demands that each spring is marked and tested at its correct rate.
In most cases Race Tech springs don't cost any more than lesser quality units yet have so much more to offer the most meticulous tuner or rider. Race Tech entrusts Eibach to manufacture springs for their suspension outlets. Eibach has one of the finest reputations for quality and attention to detail in the world. Combine this with Race Tech's stringent demands and technical requirements and you are assured of the finest springs on the market.
